Jason has served as a member of our Board of Directors since September 2013. He has been a Managing Director of Sumeru Equity Partners, a private equity firm, since March 2014. Since July 2011, Jason has been a Principal for Silver Lake Sumeru, a middle-market investment group of Silver Lake, a global private equity firm and one of BlackLine’s investors. From August 2008 to July 2011, Jason was with Symphony Technology Group, a private equity firm and from July 2004 to August 2006, served as a Senior Manager for Life Technologies, a biotech company. From February 2001 to March 2004, Jason was Director of Engineering for Angstron Systems, a nano-deposition technology company, acquired by Novellus. Prior to that, he was a Venture Capital Associate for The Spark Group, a technology-focused investment group. Jason holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Berkeley.
John has served as a member of our Board of Directors since September 2013. He cofounded private equity firm Sumeru Equity Partners, where he has served as Managing Director since March 2014. Since February 2008, John has been a Managing Director for Silver Lake Sumeru, a middle-market investment group of Silver Lake, a global private equity firm and one of BlackLine’s investors. From June 2003 to February 2008, John served as Senior Vice President of Platform Software for Adobe Systems. He previously held roles as Senior Vice President of SMB Segment Operations for Hewlett Packard Company (NYSE: HP) and Principal and Associate Partner of Electronics and High-Tech Practice for Accenture Strategic Services. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for ForeFlight, LLC, Influence Health, Inc. (formerly Medseek), Talend (Nasdaq:TLND), and Digital Reasoning Systems, Inc. He holds an M.B.A. from University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business and a B.A. in History from Yale University.
William has served as a member of our Board of Directors since September 2013. Since January 2013, he has been a partner of ICONIQ Capital Group, L.P., the parent company of an independent SEC Registered Investment Advisor and one of BlackLine’s investors. From January 2012 to December 2012, William was a private investor. Beginning in August 2000, he spent 11 years with Technology Crossover Ventures, a private equity and venture capital firm, and served as a General Partner starting in 2003. Prior to that, William held positions as an Associate for Beacon Group Ventures, a private equity firm, and an Investment Banking Analyst for Morgan Stanley. He is currently a Board member for Age of Learning and previously served as a Board member for the travel website, Orbitz Worldwide (NYSE: OWW). William holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and an A.B. in History and Engineering from Dartmouth College.
Hollie has served as a member of our Board of Directors since September 2013. She founded Luminate Capital Partners, a private equity firm, where she has been a Managing Partner since January 2015. Since June 2007, Hollie has been a Managing Director for Silver Lake Sumeru, a middle-market investment group of Silver Lake, a global private equity firm and one of BlackLine’s investors. She joined Silver Lake in August 1999. From June 1993 to July 1997, she held various analyst roles for Hellman & Friedman, a private equity firm, as well as Morgan Stanley. Currently, Hollie serves as a member of the board of directors of various private companies. She holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and an A.B. in Economics from Harvard University.
Graham has served as a member of our Board of Directors since May 2015. From 2007 to 2015, he held various senior financial roles with Salesforce, Inc., including Executive Vice President, EVP of Finance, EVP and Chief Financial Officer and EVP and Chief Financial Officer Designate. Prior to joining Salesforce, Graham spent four years as Chief Financial Officer of Advent Software. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Splunk (Nasdaq: SPLK), a provider of operational intelligence software, MINDBODY (Nasdaq: MB), a provider of software to the wellness industry, Xero, a provider of online accounting software and Citrix Systems, a provider of workplace software. Graham holds a B.Sc. in Economics and Politics from University of Bristol in England and is qualified as a chartered accountant in England & Wales.
Mario is responsible for driving BlackLine’s global marketing strategy, developing strategic partnerships and building out key alliances worldwide.
Mario has worked alongside company CEO Therese Tucker since 2004 and headed up the company’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) operations, launched in London in 2013. Mario also led the company’s expansion into France and Germany with the opening of the BlackLine Paris office in 2015 and BlackLine Frankfurt in 2016. Under his direction, the BlackLine Financial Close Suite for SAP® Solutions became an SAP-endorsed business solution, joining the ranks of fewer than 40 other software offerings globally across all industries and categories.
Prior to joining BlackLine, Mario was with Merrill Lynch. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.
Therese founded BlackLine in 2001. She designed the first offerings of BlackLine’s products, engineered its transition to the cloud in 2007, and has led the organization in automating the financial close process via the company’s flagship Finance Controls and Automation Platform. Under her direction, BlackLine has experienced strong growth since its inception.
Previously, Therese served as Chief Technology Officer for SunGard Treasury Systems. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Illinois.
Thomas has served as a member of our Board of Directors since 2010. Since September 1999, he has been a Partner for Rustic Canyon Partners, an early stage venture capital firm, which he founded in September 1999. From August 1992 to December 1999, Thomas was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Times Mirror Company. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the California Community Foundation and Westwood Technology Transfer. He is a Trustee of the California State Teachers Retirement System and a Director of several Los Angeles community based non-profit companies. Thomas is also a director for several of the Rustic Canyon portfolio companies and Praedicat, a private company whose largest shareholder is Rand Corporation. He holds a J.D. from University of Chicago and a B.A. from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Affairs at Princeton University.
